Crushing rugby victory
PA Palmerston North Manawatu ambled to an eight try 50-0 win over Horowhenua in a non-championship rugby match at Palmerston North yesterday. The elghteen-year-old Manawatu half-back, Neil Sorenson, in his first senior game for Manawatu, scored 22 points with some
fine goal kicking, landing eight out of 11 attempts. Horowhenua played disappointingly and its tackling was mostly non-existent. Scores were:— Manawatu 50 (tries to Warren Chapman 2, Russell Hawkins 2, Alan Innes, James Lang, Murray Rosenbrook and Neil Sorenson. Sorenson kicked six conversions and two penalties).
