Amatil sees profit fall
NZPA Sydney Amatil, Ltd, has reported a static earnings performance in the six months to A.pril 30 and foreshadowed a fall in net profit for the full year. The net profit increased 0.6 per cent to sAustls.3 million on a 3.2 iper cent decline in sales to ! $552.4 million. In spite of the i lacklustre result the direct- ■' ors have increased the interim dividend from 9c to 10c la share (10 per cent). I The pre-tax profit fell 15.6 I per cent to $23.1 million. The final result was siginificantly assisted by a $5.9 (million drop in its tax bill |to $6.5 million, mainly because of tax benefits from losses by the Wattie Pict operations in March.
