Highest snooker break
Dave Meredith, in search of his fourth successive Canterbury snooker title, had the highest break of the tournament—6o—- — he pushed aside Des Buckley, four/rames to nil, in the quarter-finals last evening. In other quarter-final matches at the Canterbury Billiards Association’s rooms at Pages Road,
Doug Helium beat Ken Giles, 4-1. Lew Adams beat Bill Adams, 4-2, and Claude McQuoide beat Bob Brown, 4-3. These matches were all the best of seven frames. Tonight’s semi-finals (starting at 7 p.m.) between Helium and Adams, and Meredith and McQuoide, will be the best of nine frames.
