Ski squad named
PA Auckland Forty-two ski-racers have been named in three groups for intensive training at Mt Hutt, beginning this week-end and continuing until July 20, The training is a preliminary to the international series of Europa-F.I.S. races at Mt Hutt, Coronet Peak and Turoa-A.H.1., which will continue from July 28 until August 13. The selected races, chosen by the alpine director of the New Zealand Ski Association. Mr Andreas Hefti, are predominantly South Islanders. The chosen skiers are:— Group 1. —Women: Anna Archibald Fiona Johnson, Kirsten Laird, Kate Rattray, Mandy Vryenhoek, Christine Grant.
Men: Allan Fraser, Bruce Grant, Roland Kuhn, Derek Brown, Dean Stewart, David Cooney, Evan Bloomfield. Group 2.—Women: Emma Gilroy, Michelle Trapski, Paula Trapski. Men: Maurice Brown, Stephan Rovds. Graham Goodwin, Peter Morrison, Jock Harcourt, Peter Lorimor, Paul Stieglbauer, Steven Hayes, Marcus Lee, Robert Sweet, Rolf Cook, Kim Spannagl. Group 3.—Women: Burgendy Cook, Juliette Satterthwaite, Sarah Casely. Men: Adam Gilroy, John Quigley, Ben Loster. Nils Coberger, Richard Harrison, Daryl Rangfield, Darryl Lee, Andrew Bredow. Chris Mossaed. Simon Wi Rutene. Roland Hunt.
