HURUNUI COUNTY COUNCIL ANNUAL ESTIMATES AND NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES IN ACCORDANCE WITH the provisions of the Local Government Act 1974, the Rating Act 1967, and amendments thereto, Public Notice is hereby given that the Hurunui County Council at a meeting held on June 4, 1980, prepared and approved the following Estimates of Income and Expenditure for the period commencing the Ist day of April 1980, and ending on the 31st day .of March 1981. (1) The proposed expenditure for the said Council: (a) Balance April 1, 1980 . . 12,265 (b) Administration, Enginering, Inspectionand Works .. 400,250 (c) County Roads and Bridges . . 1,001,500 (d) Other Works, Levies and Misc. 465,821 $1,879,836 (2) Monies available: (a) Subsidies and Grants .. 515,900 (b> Petrol Tax 55,000 (c) Commissions, Fees, Transfers etc 170,050 (d) Misc., Recoveries, Sale of Property, Rentals, Loan Repayments .. .. .. ~ 170,615 (e) Arrears of Rates .. ... 10,000 $921 565 (3) The additional sum required is $958,271. (4) The total rateable capital value of the County of Hurunui is $213,801,980. (5) The general rate necessary to raise the sum required is decimal-four-four-eight-five cents (.4485) in the dollar ($). . PUBLIC NOTICE is also given that it is 'the intention of the Hurunui County Council at its next Ordinary Meeting to be held on Monday, June 30, 1980, at 9.15 a.m. to make and levy a General Rate of decimal-four-four-eight-five cents (.4485) in the dollar ($) on the capital rateable value of all property appearing on the valuation rolls of the County of Hurunui. A Separate Rate of decimal-zero-five-seven-five cents (.0575) in the dollar ($) on the capital rateable value of all property within the boundaries of the Amberley Water Supply Loan Special Area: A Separate Rate of decimal-zero-three-eight cents (.038) m the dollar ($) on the capital rateable value of all property within the boundaries of the Leithfield Outfall Drain Special Area: A Separate Rate of de-cimal-zero-three-three cents (.033) in the dollar ($) on the capital rateable value of all property within the boundaries of the Amberley and Broomfield Ridings: A Separate Rate of decimal-zero-zero-two-eight cents (.0028) in the dollar ($) on the capital rateable value of all property within the boundaries of the Scargill-Motunau Recreation Reserve Loan Special Area. A Uniform Annual Charge of $l2O for each dwelling unit served directly or through a private drain, to the public sewerage systems in the Amberley and Districts Drainage Areas and the Greta Valley Drainage Area, which annual charge shall be $6O in respect of rateable property (situated within 30 metres of the Sewerage Schemes) which is capable of being effectively connected, either directly or through a private drain. Other charges by arrangement or as fixed by resolution of tSe Council: A uniform Annual Charge of $42 for each dwelling unit served directly or through a private drain, to the public sewerage system in the Hawarden-Waikari Drainage Area, which annual charge shall be $2l in respect of rateable property (situated within 30 metres of the sewerage scheme) which is capable of being effectively connected, either directly or through a private drain. Other Charges by arrangement or as fixed by resolution of the Council: A Uniform Annual Charge of $27.50 in respect of an ordinary supply to all dwelling units connected to the Amberley Water Supply, which annual charge shall be $13.75 in respect of rateable property (situated within 100 metres from any part of the waterworks) to which water can be but is not supplied. Other Charges by arrangement or as fixed by resolution of the Council : A Uniform Annual Charge of $2B in respect of an ordinary supply to dwelling units connected to the Waikari and Hawarden Water Supplies, which annual charge shall be $14.00 in respect of rateable property (situated within 100 metres from any part of the waterworks) to which water can be but is not supplied. Other Charges by arrangement or as fixed by resolution of the Council : A Uniform Annual Charge of $35 in respect of an ordinary supply to dwelling units connected to the Waipara Water Supply which annual charge shall be $17.50 in respect of rateable property (situated within 100 metres from any part of the waterworks) to which water can be but is not supplied. Other Charges by arrangement or as fixed by resolution of the Council. A Uniform Annual Charge of $17.00 for refuse removal from residential properties in the Townships of Amberley, Amberley Beach, Greta Valley, Hawarden, Leithfield, Sefton, Waikari and Waipara. Other charges by arrangement or as fixed by resolution of the Council. Separate Rates in the Glasnevin Drainage Special Area, on the basis of Capital Value as follows: Class ‘A’ decimal-zero-one-seven-five cents (.0175) in the dollar ($); Class *B’ decimal-zero-zero-eight-zero cents (.0080) in the dollar ($); Class ‘C ’ decimal-zero-three-zero-seven cents (.0307) in the dollar ($); Class ‘D’ decimal-zero-one-eight-zero-cents (.0180; in the dollar ($); Class ‘E’ decimal-zero-one-zero-three cents (.0103) in the dollar ($). Separate Rates in the Ashworths Drainage Scheme No. 1 on the basis of area as follows: Class ‘A’ 470.88 cents per ha; Class ‘B’ 282.57 cents per ha; Class ‘C’ 94.00 cents per ha. Separate Rates in the Ashowrths Drainage Scheme No. 2 on the basis of area as follows: Class *A’ 459.57 cents per ha; Class ‘B’ 367.5 cents per ha. Also, such rates as the North Canterbury Catchment Board shall direct the Hurunui County Council to collect on its behalf. •And also, such rates as the Ashley Pest Destruction Board shall direct the Hurunui County Council to collect on its behalf. Such rates and charges shall be for the period commencing on the Ist day of April 1980, and ending on the 3fst day of March 1981, and shall be due and payable by equal instalments on MAY 1, 1980, SEPTEMBER 1, 1980, and JANUARY 1, 1981 at the County Office, Amberley, where the Valuation Rolls are open for inspection during office hours. ADDITIONAL CHARGE Pursuant to Section 71 of the Rating Act 1967, an additional charge of 10 per centum will be added to the FIRST INSTALMENT not paid on or before June 15, 1980 and to the SECOND INSTALMENT not paid on or before October 15 1980 and the THIRD INSTALMENT not paid on or before February 15,1981.
