| Reductions in the safety [limits of some trotting courses, intended to be ef- ■ fective on August 1, were, [with one exception, resjcinded at a meeting of the executive of the Trotting [Conference. ,1 The proposed reduction at (the Waikato Trotting Club's ; course at Claudelands was confirmed. This was decided after i representations from the clubs concerned and kindred ■ bodies had been considered. 11 The executive decided to J sponsor a remit seeking the ■\abolition of Rule 171 at the ..annual meeting of the coniference in 1981. ; Rule 171 makes it man•idatory for clubs to run maxi’imum fields.
