Pilot hurt in crash
PA Dunedin A light aircraft crashed at ■; Alexandra Airport at dusk I yesterday and because of flooding round Dunedin the seriously injured pilot had to be taken by road to hospital I |in Invercargill. I The injured man- Anthony! Graeme Wilson, aged 21, of; Earnscleugh, is reported to! be suffering from multiple! , injuries. Mr Wilson was sole occupant of the Airtourer aircraft ; formerly owned by the SouthI land Aero Club and now by| ■an Alexandra businessman, IMr Brian Clay. The aircraft seems to have hit the ground with force, smashing its nose, undercarriage, and wings before coming to rest upright within a very short distance. Experienced pilots at the scene said the aircraft was l wrecked.
