Party for constable
PA Wellington Jim McPhillips, New Zealand’s oldest serving police constable, retires today on his sixtieth birthday. The police and the public will say happy birthday and good-bye to Miramar’s community constable at a big party at the Poneke Rugby Club’s rooms this evening. A Constable McPhillips has been patrolling Wellington’s Eastern suburbs for the last 27 years.
