Gillies to rest
Special correspondent Palmerston North
The top jumping rider, Michael Gillies, will not be in action this winter.
He broke a leg in a freak training mishap several months ago and his doctor has advised him not to ride for at least six months. The break was complicated and Gillies was told that the lea«st pressure at this stage could cause another break, one which could put him out of the saddle for a long time.
