Greyhound tote applications
P.A Wellington; The New Zealand Grey-! hound Association has .made; applications to the Racing Authority for five special totalisator licences for the; p r o p o s e d trans-Tasman; series. In a supplied statement the chairman of the New Zealand Racing Authority, Mr J. A. L. Bennett, said the Greyhound Racing Association had also made applications for full totalisator licences.' enabling off-course betting for greyhound races.
.; In accordance with the! ■'Racing Act of 1971, the association’s applications! 'must first be referred to the' !New Zealand Racing and; ii Trotting Conferences for' ‘comment. Granting the association full totalisator licences to ’ greyhound racing will require an amendment of the : Racing Act, Mr Bennett said. He added, during last year’s season 60 restricted totalisator licenses had been : held by greyhound racing clubs.
