Death of giraffe
PA Auckland Auckland Zoo’s only female giraffe, Willoughby, has died a week before she was due to give birth. She was found dead in her enclosure early on Monday. The 21-year-old giraffe came to Auckland seven years ago as a grandmother from Sydney Zoo. Willoughby’s son, Kaharoa, is the only surviving giraffe at Auckland Zoo.
