PA Wellington An Auckland engineering and town-planning firm has been chosen to pioneer new and potentially controversial legal and environmental procedures for industrial development. Murray-North and Partners, Ltd, has been selected as the principal consultant by the Petroleum Corporation ,in the development of its. Sl3O million Taranaki methanol plant. Petrocorp and Alberta Gas Chemicals, Ltd, will apply to the Government for permission to use the “fast track” provisions of the National Development Act, which was passed last year amid public dehate and controversy because of the way in which it short-circuits many of the involved planning procedures usually associated with big developments.
