Victim of blast
PA Turangi The police are still unable to release the name of a Hungarian man killed by exploding gelignite on the Rangipo North dam site on Friday because his next-of-kin have not yet been traced.
The man aged 44, was driving past the gelignite in
a fork-lift, about three metres away, when the incinerator drum exploded killing him instantly. The accident happened when old gelignite, which was unsafe to use, was being disposed of in a specially made up 200-litre drum. The blast threw the ' man out of the fork-lift.
