‘A Way In’ to literacy
PA Wellington Adults with reading and writing problems will benefit from the 52-page book, “A Way In,” published by the New Zealand Library Association. The book lists readily available books and materials to aid those who cannot read and write adequately. It was written by a Dunedin librarian, Miss Barbara Moorhouse, for the adult literary committee of the association with the aid of a $5OOO grant from the National Library Trustees. Altrusa clubs raised $l6OO to give free copies to the country’s 74 adultliteracy schemes. Copies may also be obtained at libraries and bookshops.
