Chch win Shirdale golf cup
A team from the Christchurch Golf Club beat an Avondale team 9t to 51 to win the Shirdale Cup, an annual competition between the two clubs, inaugurated last year,- when Christchurch won the trophy. Results with Christchurch names first, were:— Singles: S. Robinson beat R. Vincent, 2 and 1; J. 'Williamson beat C. Barry, 7 and 5; D. Turner lost to J. Hanton, 3 and 1; J. Parlane halved with A. Crawford-Smith; W. Tucker beat D. Gaudin, 2 and 1; A. Robinson beat M. Wright, 2 and 1; I. Dobson lost to J. Bowen, 5 and 4; J. Orr lost to B. Trangmar, 4 and 3: A. Vincent lost to J. Crawford-Smith. 3 and 2: S. Hunt lost to B. Maguire, 1 down. Foursomes: Wililamson and Tucker beat Vincent and Barry. 1 up; Parlane and Dobson beat A. and J. Crawford-Smith, 3 and 1: S. Robinosn and Orr beat Hanton and Wright, 2 and 1; A. Robinson and Hunt beat Bowen and Trangmar, 6 and 5; Turner and Vincent beat Gaudin and Maguire, 2 and 1.
