AA Travel not restricted to members only
Contrary to a widely held belief, the services of AA Canterbury Travel, Ltd, are not restricted solely to members of the Automobile Association. The well-equipped, spacious travel office on the fourth floor of the AA building in Hereford Street, opposite Latimer Square, is open to everyone.
With a staff of nine consultants specialising in all aspects of international and domestic travel, the agency has grown dramatically since its formation in 1972 and now ranks among the top retail travel outlets in the South Island.
Although, the, agency’s doors are open to all, travellers • who are AA members can gain important additional benefits such as insurance, travel books, maps and guides, -and international reciprocal service cards.
AA Canterbury’s involvement in providing services and- facilitating travel arrangements has for many l years gone far beyond normal services provided for
members. Since the 19305, it has facilitated the movement of motor vehicles between the North and South Islands and with other countries, by the issue of internationally recognised customs documents, Triptychs. Carnets de Passages en Douane.
The association has also arranged for its members, whilst overseas, to have full reciprocity of services within the British Commonwealth for up to 12 months and a similar reciprocity in most other countries.
AA Canterbury Travel, Ltd, which is a bonded member of the Travel Agents’ Association of New Zealand and an accredited I.A.T.A. agent, handles the full spectrum of international and domestic tours currently available.
