TERM: Two (2) years. SALARY: First year 5W514,4(10 p.a. Second year 5W515.300 p.a. ALLOWANCES: Expatriate Allowance. Married Officer SWS7SO p.a. Eingle Officer SWS3OO p.a. Child allowance for each dependent child resident in Western Samoa SWS2OO p.a. Deferred Inducenment Allowance, SWS 200 p.a. The above allowances are 'taxable in Western Samoa. FURLOUGH: Will be granted in respect of actual service in Western Samoa and is one consecutive day for each 12 days of service. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (1) Liaise with, other IMC’s in Countries which terminate Western Samoan international circuits. (2) Undertake routine circuit measurements. (3) Setting-up and line-up of new circuits. (4) Initiate or respond to circuit fault notifications. (5) Maintain log of all incidents, actions, faults on circuit within the defined area of responsibility. <6) Control of use of individual circuits e.g. withdrwal, restoration, rerouting etc. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: <a) Education with a diploma in engineering or science (minimum 3 to 4 years advanced studies beyond Secondary School, with evidence "of specialisation in telecommunication OR an equivalent level of education and specialisation in the field relevant to tile activity of the post, supported by appropriate qualifications or reference. (b) Experience in the operation and maintenance of national and international circuits. (c) Experience in the running and objectives of an International Maintenance Centre. id) A thorough working knowledge of CCITT procedures especially Rec. M. 710 related recommendations. (e) A thorough knowledge of the English language is essential. GENERAL: A soft furnishing allowance of XWSSO will be paid in respect of approved items. A boarding allowance of SWSBOO p.a. will be paid for each dopendent child in country of recruitmen. Storage charges will be paid in country of recruitment up to SWSIS per week. Insurance up to an amount of SWS2OOO cover on persoal effects taken to Western Samoa will be re-imbursed. Furnished accommodation (heavy) will be provided at a rental of $l2O to SWSI6O per month. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: (a) Education with a Diploma in Power Engineering or Science (minimum 3 to 4 years advanced studies beyond Secondary School) with evidence of specialisation in telecommunications Or (b) Extensive experience in the maintenance and operation of automatic standby to mains diesel generators (up to 50KVA). (c) Extensive experience of handling batteries and rectifiers. (d) . Experience of small fire protection and air conditioning units. (e) A working knowledge and practice in maintaining petrol and diesel engines used in telecom power plants are advantages. GENERAL: A soft furnishing allowance of WSSSO will be paid in respect of approved items. A boarding allowance of WS?800 p.a. will be paid for each dependent child in country of recruitment. Storage charges will be paid in country of recruitment up to WSSIS.OO per week.
