Normal killing will resume at the Islington works of Waitaki N.Z. Refrigerating today, after another meeting between freezing workers and works management. The works became idle on April 11 after a dispute about what comprised a full day’s kill. Freezing workers wanted to get a full day’s work when stock was available. The claim referred’ especially to situations where lambs ' became, wet and muddy, and; unsuitable for slaughter. - - After a meeting yesterday morning. work resumed briefly then stopped at 11

a.m. because of unsuitable stock. The chief engineer of the works (Mr A. C. White) said that the men would receive normal payment for work done, and this was not under dispute. Mr White said that the dispute now revolved round “two or three things arising out of what happened last week.” A further meeting would be held today and he had no wish to comment on the issues. The secretary of the Canterbury branch ;of 'the Meat Workers’ Union (Mr W. R. Cameron) said that .today’s meeting would attempt Jo the differences.
