Overpaid
Someone representing what was described as a “Statesman Syndicate” was overpaid $2OO by the Canterbury Jockey Club last week. The mistake arose when an employee of the club paid out on a quinella instead of a double on the second day of the Easter meeting. The syndicate representative, who could be recognised again by the payout clerk, was paid more than $BOO instead of $6OO. Before he left the C.J.C: office the syndicate representative asked for a receipt.
