Culverden calf sale
Steer calves had an. extremely firm sale' at the second Culverden calf sale, held recently.. Values for! steer calves were i at least equal to values at other] recent ' calf sales, but heifers] were harder to sell and up to] $6 behind values at Addington i last week. Competition - at the sale was. spirited and calves went as far south as Rakaia. ■ ; Steer calves ranged from $214,1 this for a line of well-grown 1 Friesians. Most of the steers! offered were between $156 and $194. I The best heifer price was $l6l, | The bulk of the heifers offered 1 were $ll4 to $l4B. I
