Refusal to talk
Sir, — As a member of the Lincoln College Students’ Association (affiliated to the New Zealand Students’ Association), I would like to air my strong support for Mr Simon Wilson as the president of the N.Z.U.S.A. and ask the Minister of Education, Mr Wellington, what right he has to say who he will, or will not speak to, on account of personal political beliefs. The issue at hand, one of education spending now, and in
the future, is one of importance to the whole country. For Mr Wellington to cease discussions with Mr 1 Wilson and virtually call for his resignation before he would speak .to the N.Z.U.S.A, again is absolutely pathetic. The students should be calling for Mr Wellington’s resignation, not the other way round. — Yours, etc., ROBERT N. GOULD. April 11, 1980.
