Fellowship for N.Z. professor
Professor R. H. Bates, professor of electrical engineering at the University of Canterbury, will this evening become the first New Zealander to receive a fellowship of the international Institute of Electronic Engineers.
The honorary fellowship will be bestowed at the inaugural meeting of a newly formed southern New Zealand section of the institute.
