Forest plans
Sir/ — Can'Professor McKelvey assure your readers that forthcoming draft New Zealand Forest Service regional management plans for Buller, North Westland and South Westland will present
“at ■ range of management options . . . between the extremes of complete preservation and complete exploitation” for public considera-. tion (“The Press”, April 12)? Or will they follow the pattern of the 1979 Whirinaki State Forest draft management proposals, which set aside 75 per cent of the merchantable forest and then prescribed how to log it? — Yours, etc.,
G. TAYLOR. April 13, 1980.
