Army golf tournament
Excellent response from sponsors in Canterbury should ensure a substantial profit from the Burnham Camp’s 18-hole golf tournament at Burnham on Saturday.
All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Queen Elizabeth II Army Memorial Museum Fund. The musuem. opened last year, has surpassed all expectations as a drawcard, but long-term financial requirements have, to be met.
Updating material and creafing permanent displays are high On the list of priorities. The Army will use golf tournaments as its method of raising finance this year and it hopes to raise in excess of $2OOO from Saturday’s event.
The tournament, which' has a maximum handicap limit of 24, will be held over three grades with excellent prizes in each grade. The; top prize for the best net is a set of clubs<
