Blockade lifted
Demonstrators in the Indian state of West Bengal have decided to suspend their week-old economic blockade of Assam, the Press Trust of India has reported. The move came after indications that the Prime Minister (Mrs Indira Gandhi) was ready to use troops in Xssam to help contain vio'ence against Bengali immigrants in the state. The blockade has been led by the south wing of Mrs Gandhi’s Congress Party. — Calcutta.
