Scanner tenders
Tenders are called for a $900,000 body scanner that will be installed at Christchurch Hospital to serve the South Island and the lower half of the North Island. A Government decision on the successful tenderer is expected in about two months.
The medical superinten-
dent of Christchurch Hospital, Dr Andrews, said yesterday that setting up the scanner in the hospital’s clinical services block might be a bigger and more expensive job than previously envisaged. , It would demand a tight schedule for the scanner to be ready for use in the first quarter of next year.
