Enrolments increased
First-year enrolments the University of Canterbury have increased by 4 per cent this year. The Vice-Chancellor of thi university (Professor A. D» Brownlie) has told the University Council fha£ the total enrolments this year were about the same as last year, about 7400. > First-year enrolments were about 1900, the increase being in commerce and sci; ence. Enrolments of first-yeaf overseas students were about the same as last yeat — abbut 90 — but no;firm figures could be given until next week, said ProfessdJBrownlie. Yesterday was the last day for’ late enrolments and the refunding of fees fojthose who had dropped out of courses. '»
