Washing facilities at kiosk
Sir, — I had .occasionrecently to inquire if handwashing facilities were available at the Botanie-Gar-
dens kiosk restaurant, before availing myself of the excellent smorgasbord luncheon there. On being told that these facilities did not exist I was directed to the smartlooking toilet block adjacent to the children’s playground* It was pleasing to note that hot water was tapped to the line of stainless steel basins but the problem was how to use it. Not only were there no basin plugs but also no soap or towels were provided. I was obliged to do my best by switching hands from the hot water, tap to the cold tap alternately, then use my handkerchief for drying. Surely the City Council can do better than this in this modern well-de-signed building. I also noted that a playground attendant is located in this building who surely should be able to control the pilfering that the council must haye to cope with. — Yours, etc., I. A. ARCHIBALD. .
