Gasworks closed
Greymouth reporter The Greymouth Borough Council’s gasworks officially closed last night, but a limited supply of gas is being maintained for a few remaining customers. The Town Clerk of Greymouth (Mr B. P. Moreton) said a limited supply, would continue for a few consumers who had approached the council and who had been unable to convert to other forms of fuel before the closing. The total number of customers involved was 12 in the central business area. Their position will be re-ex-amined in a week’s time, according to Mr Moreton.
