No gas cuts planned
PA Nelson Piped gas supplies in Nelson and Blenheim will be maintained next week, but workers will follow a strict Work-tb-rule from April 8 or 9 if there is no progress on award talks. The president of the Nelson plumbers , and gas fitters’ union (Mr A. Barrett) said lives could be endangered if piped supplies were cut and this would “definitely not be done.” ■ This is the only’ service to be continued if the award talks do not resume. “Gas will.’ continue to fre manufactured, but there will be no work'beyond this,” Mr Barrett said; , . -Wellington, -.
