Woman for licensing commission
PA Wellington Mrs Pamela Thompson, of Wellington, has been appointed the first woman member of the Licensing Control Commission. The appointment was announced by the Minister of Justice, Mr McLay. •••’>? ' English-born Mrs Thompson became' a naturalised New Zealander in 1961. She has a bachelor of domestic science degree from London University, a teaching diploma, and is a fellow of the Hotel Catering and Institutional Management Association, the professional body for the hotel and catering industry in Britain. Since 1964 she has been an adviser to the Education Department on training for the hotel and catering industry.
