Opera body wants grant
PA Wellington Financial difficulties are plaguing the Federation of Operatic Societies. , It fell short of an annual target of $20,000 for the second time running, less $ll,OOO. The Ministry of Recreation and Sport lowered its annual grant to the federation from $12,625 to $11,700 for last year.
At its annual meeting yesterday, the president called for the grant to be increased. The federation has 15,000 members.
