Pig surplus for export
PA Hamilton The Pork Marketing Board will buy pigs for export in a market’ intervention exercise to reduce the pig meat surplus. The board will pay $1.55 a kilogram far prime pigs in the weight range of 45kg to 70kg. The chairman of the Waikato District, -Pig Committee (Mr C. Monks) said the price offered would ensure that producers could sell their, pigs although it was . about. 25c a- kilogram below break-evgn pries?
