Censorship

Sir, — Having returned, to New Zealand after seven years to find its social and political priorities almost as “screwed” as before, I make a plea for “Jezebel”. It is one of the better of the indifferent bunch of currently over-played pop songs. Also for the Monty Python film, ’’The Life of Brian,’’ because we’re all in need of a good laugh. I found .this a lightly but maturely Christian film, touching very nicely on Jesus’s point: “Except ye be as little children ye shall in no wise enter the Kingdom , ~” It pokes fun, of course, but mostj stingingly at the far Left, so .that Its exclusion from our cinemas because of do-gooding religious bigots can only please that element. — Yours, etc.,

B/ P. LILBURN, March' 27, 1980,
