F.O.E. conference
More than 50 Friends of he Earth from round New Zealand have gathered at the University of Canterbury for the organisation’s national conference this week-end.
Mr R. Wilson, the natial organiser, said last evening Friends of the Earth would have a far greater impact in the 1980 s than it had in the 19705.
This decade the group would have to shift away slightly from fighting specific issues to lobbying the Government on-all environmental issues, to gain pub? lie credibility, and to fight “the issue-oriented, campaigns which make the thorn in the Government’s, side.”
