Christ’s College easily won tile premier race, the under 19 eights, at the Canterbury Secondary Schools’ rowing championships at Kerr’s Reach on Saturday.

Christ’s beat a relative newcomer to the championships, Kaiapoi High School with Linwood High School third.

Marlborough was well represented by teams from Queen Charlotte College (Picton) and Marlborough Boys’ College. The under 19 fours beat Christ's College to win and the under 17 fours also won, beating St Bede’s.

Two girls events —open sculls and open fours —were run and Queen Charlotte College won both.
