Sir, — It appears almost certain that coal by the thousands of tons will soon be shipped overseas from the South Island. In addition, our Government is busily engaged in working out schemes whereby electric units by the million will be sold annually, at attractive user rates, to huge industrial schemes in the South Island. For some considerable number of weeks now, electric units by the million have been wasted because we had too much fuel (water) and too little demand.
