Marine Sergeant Bambi Lin Finney has been discharged for posing seminude in “Playboy” magazine, a marine official said yesterday. “The marines have standards to keep,” the official said. “She was given an honourable early discharge last week.” Miss Finney, aged 22, a brunette, appears in photographs in the April issue of “Playboy” in uniform, in parachute gear, and standing in front of a swimming pool with nothing on but an open see-through blouse, reports NZPA-Reuter.
“The generals must be archaic if they think I brought disgrace on the marines,” Miss Finney said after leaving her camp at Twenty-Nine Palms, 150 miles east of Los Angeles. Six women representing other military services also are being featured by “Playboy,” but no military action had been taken against them, a “Playboy” spokesman said. “We are astonished by the response of the Marine Corps, particularly * as every one of the girls made clear she was proud of her military service,” he said.
