Objection to Wainui building
One objection to stage three of a five-stage subdivision at Wainui on the Akaroa harbour has been lodged with the Akaroa County Council. The deadline for objections was yesterday and the objection, from the Wainui Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association, will be heard, at a meeting of the County Council in March.
-The objection describes stage three of the subdivision as unsuitable for, and detrimental, to the area, and contrary to the public interest in general. Permission for development of the first two stages, allowing up to 21 building sites in the first stage and 26 dwelling units in the second, was granted in 1977.
Stage one had almost been sold out, said the developer, Mr R. B. McKenzie, of Christchurch.
