Spraying scrapped
PA Wellington Plans to spray a Wellington suburban area with the herbicide 2,4;5-T have been cancelled after an order from the Director of Civil Aviation, (Captain E. T. Kippenberger). A department official said yesterday that ground spraying had been planned for gorse behind an airport building in Miramar. In view of the Wellington City Councils embargo on 2,4,5-T and the controversy surrounding the chemical, it would have been “most impolitic” to go ahead with the spraying, Captain Kippenberger said.
