Locarno’s price slashed
Bookmakers in Sydney have reduced the odds on Locarno in the Inter-Domi-nion Championship Grand Final at Harold Park on March 28 after the five-year-old’s dashing win at Washdyke on Saturday. Before his win Locarno was quoted at 33 to 1 by some bookmakers, but the
best price available yesterday was 15 to 1Pure Steel and Frosty Imp are now joint favourites after the announcement that Grand Thor was almost certain to be withdrawn from the senes. They are quoted at 7 to 2. The champion New Zealand pacer, Lord Module, is quoted at 5 to I and is second favourite.
