Teen-ager ‘lucky’
PA Hamilton. A Huntly teen-ager was lucky not to blow himself to pieces- when he Tried to light a stick of gelignite, the police said yesterday. A youth, aged 19. and a companion aged 17, took 30 sticks of gelignite from Downer’s mine, west of Huntly last week, the police said. “The oldest boy was foolish enough to break one of the sticks in half and try to light it. Fortunately it did not go off or he would almost surely have blown himself to bits,” he said. The pair were caught trying to return the explosives to the mine after
