Sister cities
Sir, — While I have no desire to enter any argument over street litter, I am surprised that the reference to “Sister cities”- has not raised a solitary peep of protest from women’s libbers and human rightists at the use of this sexist term. Admittedly, most cities are noisy, sprawling, dirty, polluted and, prohibitively expensive to maintain, but what is specifically female about them? Sibling cities if you please, Sir, sibling cities — Yours, etc.. A. BROWN. February 23, 1980.
