Agent Orange
Sir, — Nobody mentions, let alone sympathises with, Agent Orange victims. Mr Gill speaks only of soldiers. What does your correspondent Ann Fleming, (February 19), expect of the present Government? She knows, arid I know, that the war was dirty and unnecessary. But no National Party politician will be permitted to say so. Yours etc., KEN MCALLISTER. February 19, 1980.
Sir, — In reply ,to • AnnFleming (February 19) .many think of the countless Vietnamese suffering the effects of Agent Orange, along with the other poisons wars release upon people; and these protest on August 6 each year, saying: “No more Hiroshimas.” Also, in this city and others, we marched in protest against our country sending soldiers to fight in Vietnam, because our nuclear age calls for new insights and understanding of what makes for peace. Justice, and goodwill, not enmity will save the world from nuclear holocaust and each of us decides on which side he stands. There is no way to peace: peace is the way. —- Yours, etc., . N. BECK. February 19, 1980.
