Cyanide spills
PA Auckland Houses and factories in a 400 m radius of a cyanide spillage in Waikaukau Road, Glen Eden, were evacuated yesterday afternoon. A baby, aged 12 months, was taken to hospital after it began vomiting. Two women residents were treated for headaches and sickness. The spillage occured at -E. J. Edwards, Ltd, a chemical factory. Workers were apparently unloading drums when one split open.
