Yacht almost home
PA Auckland Organisers of the round-the-North Island yacht race were at Mangdnui Harbour, Northland, late last evening, awaiting the arrival of the sloop Cassandra. The yacht, an entrant in the race, had been out of radio contact since last Thursday, and was not picked up again until Mondav night when she reported that she was near Ahipara. She was seen rounding Cape RCinga yesterday and the Devonport Yacht Club expected her to reach Mangonui sometime __ dnnng “the middle of the night. Roth crew members, C. N. North and E. H. Howe, were reported to be safe, However, the cause of the yacht’s disappearance will not be known until organisers speak to the crew.
