Appeal on March 10
The Salvation Army will hold its annual door-to-door appeal' on Monday, March 10.
A target of $72,000 for the Christchurch area had been set, said the Salvation Army’s public relations officer (Captain R. Smith). TJiis was 30 per cent up on last year.
The Salvation Army hoped to increase its collection by 30 per cent throughout New Zealand. It had set a target of $1 million, said Captain Smith.
“We need the extra because of inflation and because the social needs of the community are increasing all the time,” he said.
