Airline crews’ conditions
Sir, — I feel that Mr Saxton has not answered Mr A. M. Tait’s question in his letter. (February 16). On this contentious Auckland-Los Angeles flight the flight crew have a lay-over of 48 hours in Honolulu on the return whereas the cabin crew
have 20 hours. The flight crew negotiated into their union award some two years ago that, they do not do two night flights in succession; consequently they have not done this roster pattern for two years and when they d’!, they had and still continue to have two horizontal beds for rest during the Honolulu-Auckland sector. — Yours, etc., JENNIFER VICARS. February 17, 1980.
