Bombing at Swiss plant
NZPA-Reuter Berne A bomb exploded at an electric power station in Switzerland yesterday, causing about $600,000 damage to three transformers near Bad Ragaz. No-one was hurt, according to the police. No-one had claimed responsibility for the attack on the plant, a conventional thermal power station, the police said.
The blast temporarily cut off power to local houses.
The two nuclear power plants at Goesgen and Graben in north Switzerland were targets last month of bomb attacks that wrecked steel meteorological pylons.
An anti-nuclear group later said it was responsible for the Goesgen blast.
