Santa too cheerful
NZPA Adelaide A bogus Santa Claus with too much Christmas spirit under his belt got an unexpected and unpleasant Christmas present from the Adelaide police on Monday night: & drinkdriving charge. The police said they had realised the man driving erratically through suburban Brompton was not the real Santa: first of all he was in a car, not the traditional reindeer and sleigh, and in any case the real Santa would not have driven in such a dangerous manner. The bogus Santa went to great lengths to fool the police when they approached the car: he bellowed, “Ho, ho, ho,” and accused them of not liking him. The man, aged 26. was soon disabused — with a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and other Unspecified offences.
